Foundation of the Museum
After the nationalization in 1945 the castle played different community purposes. Kindergarten, hairdressers, medical centre and even school kitchen worked here.
Mátyás Molnár and his family moved from Túristvándi to Vaja in the Spring of 1957.
Due to his work the Natonal Bureau of Monumental Protection made restoration works between 1960-62, and a museum started to funcion in the renaissance castle from 1964.
Mátyás Molnár was the founder of the museum . ( 1923 Karácsond- 1982 Vaja ) .
The building had overall historical restoration between 2000-2003. It can be visited in its present form since 2004.

Historical building. Built in the XVII century , . Ferenc Rákóczi II., the chief leader of the Rákóczi freedom fights had talks on the destiny of the nation and the country on 14 July 1703. , and 31 January, 1711.
